met this guy today
turns out he is not in fact this guy
but a member of his support crew (the one with the van as he put it)
anyhoo.. he came to my door to ask if it would be ok for him to park in front of my house as apparently my neighbours have been complaining about his van blocking their view.... of a parkinglot...
they never said a word to him mind they’ve just been calling his landlord
i think he’s now got a pretty good idea of what he moved next door to... poor guy
anyways far as i know he can park anywhere he damn well pleases on a public street sooo sure park away mate i dont mind
nice guy.... i may have to borrow him when i need to do some wrenching and dont know what im doing again

I’ve had similar issues with neighbors and my vehicles, one neighbor was all for it, let me use his driveway as needed, never complained.
The rest of them would complain, especially when I would bring home my 30+ foot work truck home, it didn’t even block anyone, just my driveway and front steps, but no it was an issue that the whole neighbor hood had to complain about.

yep... some people really need to chill out
i did offer the guy my driveway as im not using it but he figures his big assed van would just cramp the irritable neighbours cars and parking there would just cause more trouble.... he’s probably not wrong there
im increasingly convinced my neighbours moved here from bumblefuck nowhere and are stubbornly holding on to their small town mentality (going by the security cameras they’ve put up they also seem to be a little scared of the big mean city...... hell.. i dont even lock my doors most of the time)

Yeah where I was living was a small village with less than a thousand people, and I was in the only real neighborhood area.
Where my grandma lives is an HOA, and I’m no longer allowed to live there as a result of shenanigans. Including multiple tractor trailer trucks showing up weekly to deliver car parts and tools I would order. That paired with the cars I owned (None of them state inspected, all over the decibel limits, all were an “eyesore” according to the HOA) they politely asked me to never come back.

I’ve had neighbou rs complain about me parking in front of my own house for more than 24 hours because I had a washed and waxed Chevelle and it was going to rain so I threw the cover on. Woke up to find parking regulations taped to my door with the “24 hours only” section highlighted. I hate to be tit-for-tat with the nimbys but this earned the offender a picture window view of said Chevelle in front of his house for 23.5 hours with the hood up. Didn’t happen again.

Yeah, they are a bunch of losers haha.
Everyone on the HOA board is older, they just sit at home all day and wonder how they can make everyone around them miserable, my grandma calls the Park Nazis.
They will walk around once a week and measure the lawns to make sure no one has grass over the length allowed.

sounds like they need to get some hobbies
having rules on how long the grass is allowed to be is they kinda stuff that would drive me completely mad.. glad i dont have to deal with that kinda stuff
(me neighbours on the other hand would probably love it)

Yeah, it’s mostly to keep the neighborhood clean and nice looking, which I get, but it is so annoying dealing with those people. Mean while board members of the HOA can drive drunk, crash a car into a telephone pole down the road and still keep their position.

Agreed. As long as someone keeps it neat and doesn’t bother me I have no issue. However, my neighbor thinks it’s okay to run a landscape company out of his house. Which by itself isn’t a big deal nor the mini dump truck (Isuzu NPR) but it’s bothersome when he parks it in front of my house so he can keep the spaces in front of his house clear and the driveway empty. Plus he has to clear every leaf off the lawn multiple times a day and starts early on the weekend
